Spiced Candied Pecans

The first time I encountered spiced candied pecans was at Crush Wine Bar on King St. W. They were so addictive, I had to try my hand at making them. These are easy and a definite crowd-pleaser - the only thing you'll regret is not having made more!

Spiced Candied Pecans

2 cups pecan halves
1 egg white, beaten
3/8 cup sugar
1 tsp each: cinnamon, allspice, cayenne, salt
1/2 tsp black pepper

Preheat oven to 300F. Line a baking sheet with foil. Combine egg whites and spices. Mix in pecans. Lay out pecans in a single layer on baking sheet, and bake for 30 min. Allow to cool for 5 min, then remove pecans from sheet and let cool completely on a plate. Store in an air-tight container.
